Systems Architects of Human Renewal

About

Alexandra Cousins,
Founder

My path into this work wasn't linear. It came out of a lifelong obsession with healing, my own health crisis, years of self-experimentation, deep study, and close work with complex cases over most of a decade.

I was drawn to the body from as early as I can remember — as a child, I was affected deeply whenever I heard someone was seriously ill, with an instinctive sense that illness wasn't as random or isolated as people made it sound. I also sensed early that conventional medicine, essential as it is in acute and emergency situations, wasn't the whole answer. The body isn't a machine of separate parts. It's a living system shaped by food, environment, emotion, trauma, connection, stress, nervous system state, and the inner life of the person.

My own life became my teacher. Early trauma and a difficult youth expressed themselves, over time, as a long list of health problems: chronic fatigue, chronic pain, gut issues, brain fog, depression, a body that never felt fully at ease with itself.

In my twenties I went looking for answers, at first for myself. I studied Ayurveda, yoga, bodywork, nutrition, fasting, and traditional healing systems, travelling to India twice to complete Ayurvedic and yoga practitioner training in a traditional setting, far from the Westernised wellness world. Later I worked in wellness, including at Chiva-Som. What I learned was that healing isn't only biochemical — it's environmental, relational, emotional, contextual. How a person is held, nourished, and seen matters.

The real turning point came in my late thirties, when my own health collapsed. I had what felt like chronic fatigue syndrome and was, at times, essentially bedridden. I'd already done a lot of inner work and alternative healing, and some of it helped, but not enough. I needed to understand the body far more deeply and systematically.

That began an intense period of study and self-experimentation. In 2018, I formally started Living Mucus Free, focused on detoxification, diet, fasting, and cleansing, and ran retreats built around that work. It was powerful, and it also had limits — detox and fasting could become too strict, too depleting, too one-sided. The body needed more than cleansing. It needed rebuilding, regulation, and regeneration.

In 2020, the work evolved into En.Light Life, moving toward a more integrated, individualised, regenerative approach. I went deeper into functional medicine, genetics, epigenetics, metabolomics, gut ecology, hormones, and nervous system regulation, and earned certifications in DNA analysis, peptides, and functional medicine through Metabolic Mentor University. Much of what I know beyond that is self-taught, built through years of study the available courses didn't go deep enough to answer on their own.

A Note on Scope

What I am, and what I'm not

I'm a health coach, not a licensed clinician. I don't diagnose, prescribe, or treat disease. What I do is read patterns across a person's biology and history, and build a sequenced protocol to support the systems underneath their health — because most chronic illness isn't one problem, it's a sequence: a genetic weakness, a stressor that found it, a body that ran out of capacity to keep up.

The Next Chapter

REGENEREIGHT

What started as detox work, then broadened into a fuller regenerative approach, has matured into a methodology of its own: a way of reading how the body breaks down, compensates, and can be rebuilt in the right order. REGENEREIGHT is that next chapter. My aim is for people to leave with a real understanding of their own body — what happened, why, what it needs — and to move from fear into trust.

My husband, Gary, co-founded the practice with me. He teaches yoga and meditation, leads on retreat logistics, and works alongside me on every Immersion.

From fear into trust.

This Is REGENEREIGHT.
